"Salt Creek" is an old fiddle tune that was known as "Salt River" before the Bill Monroe release. It's believed to have come from an old Irish traditional tune that spawned many songs.
First recording and first release as "Salt River" by Kessinger Brothers (1929/1931)
Released as "Salt Creek" by Bill Monroe (1964)
